It is extremely hot, but beautiful. The wildflowers near Ashford Junction are breathtaking in the early spring (March). Hike Telescope Peak if you're up for a cooler challenge. I highly recommend visiting the abandoned mining town of Rhyolite. The ruins are spectacular and beautiful.
